22 July 2018 – Advanced Class 1: DISPLAY AND COMPETITION MODELLING

  • How to approach a project intended for display or competition.
  • Creating a clear vision and implementing the project from start to finish.
  • Selecting the right model and standing out amongst fellow competitors.
  • Project planning and working to a deadline.

29 July 2018 – Advanced Class: 2 DISPLAY BASING

  • Now you have a vision and a clear project roadmap, its time to build.
  • Considering various tools, materials and basing options to correctly implement the vision.
  • Working within a border and also NOT!
  • Breaking boundaries.

5 August 2018 – Advanced Class 3: COLOR THEORY & IN-DEPTH PAINT TECHNIQUES

  • Creating a unified colour scheme, binding the narrative.
  • Using the colour wheel, to bring a unified tone, to the project.
  • Using lines of sight and drawing the viewer’s eye to focus on points of interest.
  • In-depth study of paint techniques, utilising multiple finishes, providing visual interest, and appeal to the project.
  • Exploring new mediums like oils, pigments and watercolour pencils, stretching the art form.

12 August 2018 – Intermediate Class: ASSEMBLY, SUB-ASSEMBLY AND CONVERSIONS

26 August 2018 – Advanced Class 4: ATMOSPHERE/SKINTONES/TONE/ LIMITED PALETTE

  • Understanding skin tones and starting from green!!!
  • Exploring human anatomy.
  • Understanding light, and subtlety to skin. Both human and “alien”.
  • Understanding atmosphere and tone and working from a limited palette.
  • Pushing the boundaries and expanding the art form.
  • Creating and understanding your own unique style.
